January 15th, 2019 by

Kia’s most successful subcompact crossover SUV over the past decade has been the popular front wheel drive Kia Soul. The 2017 Kia Soul continues this legacy offering four different trim levels to allow you to get the SUV you have always wanted. Each trim level features unique features that make the Soul a perfect choice for any type of driver. Let’s take a closer look at each trim level and see what features are offered at each level.

Base Manual

The first trim level offered on the 2017 Kia Soul is going to be the Base Manual trim level and it will be the most affordable option that you can choose from. The Base Manual level is going to have all of the base features offered for the Kia Soul, but that doesn’t mean you will not be getting some great equipment. Equipped with a 1.6L fuel sipping engine, you can enjoy 24 miles per gallon in the city and 30 miles per gallon on the highway. As the trim level name suggests, you will also be getting a manual transmission as well. As for the features, this trim level has cloth seats, an adjustable steering wheel, variable speed intermittent wipers, MP3/Satellite radio, auxiliary audio input, and steering wheel audio controls.

Base Auto

If you are not a fan of the standard transmission but still want the base model Soul, you can opt for the Base Auto trim level. This trim features the same great engine and fuel mileage, however you will get an easy-to-drive automatic transmission. As for the features, you will be looking at the same ones featured on the Base Manual transmission. However, due to the automatic transmission, you will get the added feature of cruise control as well.

Auto trim level

For those wanting to step things up a bit and get additional upgrades not found on the base model Soul, you can opt for the + Auto trim level. This trim level will feature an automatic transmission and a 2.0L engine not found on the previous trim levels. The most notable differences come within the added equipment found on the interior and exterior of this SUV. For the exterior, you will notice automatic headlights, fog lights, and new wheel options. On the interior, you will get a cargo shade, climate control, and a back up camera. You will also get the same base features found on the base models as well if they were not upgraded as part of this package.

Auto exclaim package

If you are wanting the most fully loaded, performance driven Kia Soul that money could buy in 2017, then the Exclaim package is the trim level for you. Featuring a turbocharged 1.6L engine that puts out an impressive 201 horsepower and 195 torque, it has all of the upgrades that you could ever want. While it includes many of the standard features, you do get a great upgrade with new wheels, exterior upgrades, a new touchscreen radio, leather trimmed seats, and many other standout features.
